Hydraulic Lift Electric Low Floor Buses 

NEW DELHI: Delhi Government is planning to bring new Hydraulic Lift buses for the differently abled persons of the state so they can travel easily o their destinations.

Delhi Government plans to install the hydraulic lifts in the buses which helps the differently abled persons to board the bus easily.

After the Delhi High Court hampered the process of procurement of new standard-floor buses on the ground, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had approached the apex court for its approval.

Both Delhi Transport Corporation and AAP have submitted their tender which was filled to invite bidding for 1000 buses. The Delhi Cabinet had already approved the low floor electric buses in Delhi which are environment friendly.

   Electric Low Floor Buses: Complete Story

The cabinet is headed by the CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. He has appointed Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) as a Project Consultant for this project.

The cabinet approval to the Transport Department’s proposal will help in modernising Delhi’s transport sector and substantially reducing air pollution.

Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System have to submit its report within 3 months.

The Transport Department had sought the cabinet’s in-principle approval to engage 1,000 pure low floor air-conditioned electric buses, and later on the complete project decision will be taken.

The Department will construct the Bus depots at six different locations namely – East Vinod Nagar, Bawana Sector 5, Burari, Rohini Sector 37, Revla Khanpur and Narela.

Electric power for charging of electric buses and the setup and installation of required number of the charging units for the Electric Low Floor buses shall be the responsibility of the firm, who will arrange the infrastructure at their own cost, and they will have a tie up with the DISCOMs.

The State Government has taken the inspiration of setting up electric buses from foreign countries. China is a leader in using environment friendly electric buses. Starting  Electric low floor buses in Delhi seems to be a god idea as it will reduce the air pollution and the hydraulic lifts will benefit the differently abled citizens of the state.
